Individual Therapy for Women of Color
A future therapy practice focused on supporting women of color navigating identity, relationships, grief, burnout, anxiety, life transitions, and the complex process of becoming more fully themselves.
Therapy for the Questions That Don't Have Simple Answers
Therapy offers an opportunity to slow down and explore the thoughts, emotions, experiences, relationships, and patterns that shape your life.
Many women seek therapy during periods of stress, transition, grief, uncertainty, or emotional pain. Others come because they want to better understand themselves, navigate complicated relationships, explore questions of identity and belonging, or make sense of experiences that continue to affect them long after they have passed.
Together, after I am licensed, we may explore how your past experiences influence your present life, how cultural and family expectations shape your decisions, and how long-standing patterns continue to show up in your relationships, emotions, and sense of self.
Therapy is not about becoming someone different. It is about developing a deeper understanding of who you already are, creating greater self-awareness, and building a more intentional relationship with yourself and your life.
Whether you’re seeking support through a difficult season or simply hoping to know yourself more fully, therapy offers a space for reflection, healing, growth, and meaningful change.
Areas of Intended Focus
Identity & Cultural Expectations
Many women of color spend years navigating the intersection of culture, family, community, responsibility, and personal identity. Therapy can provide space to explore questions of belonging, cultural expectations, intergenerational dynamics, and the challenge of balancing your own needs with the expectations of others.
Relationships, People-Pleasing & Boundaries
Relationships have the power to bring both deep connection and deep pain. Together, we can explore recurring relationship patterns, people-pleasing tendencies, difficulties setting boundaries, communication challenges, and the ways you relate to both yourself and others.
Grief & Loss
Grief extends far beyond the loss of a loved one. We may grieve relationships, identities, life stages, dreams, opportunities, or versions of ourselves that no longer exist. Therapy can offer a supportive space to process loss and navigate the many ways grief shapes our lives.
Burnout, Anxiety & Life Transitions
Many women spend years carrying responsibilities, expectations, and pressure without realizing how exhausted they have become. Therapy can help you navigate anxiety, perfectionism, overwhelm, major life transitions, uncertainty, and the emotional impact of carrying too much for too long.
What Therapy Will Be Like With Me
My approach is thoughtful, collaborative, curious, and insight-oriented.
I believe meaningful change begins with understanding. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms or quick solutions, I am interested in helping clients explore the experiences, relationships, emotions, and patterns that have shaped who they are.
Clients can expect a therapeutic space that is warm, supportive, reflective, and culturally responsive. I value curiosity over judgment and believe that many of our struggles make sense when viewed in the context of our experiences.
My role is not to tell you who to become or what decisions to make. Instead, I plan to help create a space where you can better understand yourself, explore what feels meaningful and true, and develop greater clarity around how you want to move through the world.
A Practice in Development
I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and building a future therapy practice centered on supporting women of color through life’s challenges, transitions, and questions of identity, connection, and meaning. If this approach resonates with you, I invite you to follow along as this practice continues to take shape.
